SuperMap iServer is a server GIS software development platform product based on high-performance cross-platform GIS kernel, which is distributed and scalable. The product is provided for network clients through services. The GIS desktop product is a GIS service with the same functions; it can manage, publish, and seamlessly aggregate multi-source services, including REST services, OGC services (WMS, WMTS, WFS, WCS, WPS, CSW, etc.); it supports multiple types of client access; it supports data management, editing, and analysis in a distributed environment; it is also a service-oriented GIS development framework that provides multi-level extensions from the client to the server.

SuperMap iServer is based on the Jakarta EE platform and SuperMap iObjects, which is an enterprise GIS product with service-oriented architecture built by Java. As a service-oriented GIS product, it can fully support SOA.
